Ok, so Mapquest estimates the time from Denton to Shreveport at 3 1/2 hours and the time from Shreveport to Ruston at just over an hour. So, if we could get a group down in Shreveport on Friday to have a little fun and then leave out early Saturday morning it could make for a good trip...regardless of the outcome of the game.

My wife *gasp* is taking that Saturday off and taking a half-day on Friday. If she's willing to spend several days centering around a football game then we all can. biggrin.gif

Is Friday night or Saturday night better for Shreveport?

The game starts at 3:00 on Saturday. That should give most fans ample time to drive to Shreveport on Saturday morning and get checked into their hotel room before proceding to the game in Ruston. There will be a big Greenbackers/Mean Green Club tailgate party at the game, so don't worry about getting lunch along the way.

Then we should all meet after the game at whichever casino is in the Shreveport Riverwalk restaurant area because not all fans are old enough to get into gambling establishments.

I would suggest the Bossier Riverwalk -

Lots of shops (for the wives), several new restaurants - easy access to the Horsehoe for gambling - and Pro Bass Shop for the guys -

Hope to see ya'll in Ruston -

My plans: Listen to the first 3 quarters on the radio, then turn it off in disgust.

I hope you are wrong, but sadly I think you're going to be right. sad.gif

This is the one road trip this year I can make since soccer doesn't have a game on Sunday, so count me in! However, count me out for the casino jazz, I've got another 6 months to go. sad.gif Next year will be different. Hope ya'll all win big!

Count my group (4) in.

A few years back we all met at ... um.. some chain cajun place after the ULM game. I think this time we should all go to the Blind Tiger down by the (former) Hollywood casino. I crave that place. It is right up the street from the river walk.

I don't care where, but let's just come to some consensus. A couple of years back, when we played at Monroe, all the talk was about going to one of the casinos after the game (can't remember which one now). Anyway, we were there for several hours and never saw another greenie in the place.

Well, we booked at the Holiday Inn too. You can count on seeing a few green shirts at the (former) Hollywood casino that night. What is the name of that casino now?

When did they change the name of Hollywood? Was it recent?

It changed to Eldorado. I am not sure when that happened. They got purchased by Penn Gaming?

I originally had it planned, but it'll depend on if FC Dallas has a playoff game next Saturday night. Sorry, I'll take playoffs on a team that's battered and bruised and still made the playoffs, over an underachieving team that'll get spanked with a conservative game plan.

If FC Dallas gets the #2 seed we will have the home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Home field gives us the 2nd leg of the home and home aggregate series. This means that we would play at PHP on the weekend of Oct 29-30.

Enjoy the excitement of a 1-nil match ! biggrin.gif

yeah I know, but right now its up in the air. It wouldn't surprise me if LA takes the #2 from us Saturday night.

Got our tickets in the mail last Thursday. Section R, Row 19, seats 1 & 2. From their seating chart, looks about at the 25 yd. line. Anybody else?
