attendance has been good this year, it was bad last year....

attendance will start its sharp decline in the next game, homecoing will be average attendance. and the worst game of the season for attendance will be the game right after thanksgiving when no one will be here.

who the heck plans this crap. a game after thanksgiving, we will be lucky to get 9K

And no marquee or name school on NT's home schedule, either. cool.gif

The proof in the pudding for our fans will be our last 3 games. If we are able to maintain that 20K per game average thru the balance of our season, then we will have made some very impressive progress this year (and during what looks like may be a down season up to this point, too).

The Saturday after Thanksgiving game at Fouts will be a toughy buts lets wait and see what happens. unsure.gif

That was the game that we re-scheduled to accomodate Arkansas State.

I've already snatched up 5 tickets from season ticket holders who will be out of town that weekend to cover family members who will be coming into town for the holiday. Hopefully others are doing the same kind of advance planning.

I think we'll get at least 12k...maybe 15 if we've put together some wins (not counting of course the game at LSU).

The students will show if they think the tailgate parties will be worth the trip. If not, you can almost count on them being a non-factor.

We should be offering dozens of free cases of beer to those groups to help them jump start their party efforts. Of course they should be reminded that the free beer is only intended for people 21 and over.

Maybe a post-game concert by someone relatively popular would also help. (Maybe something like Beerman on a bigger stage)

I'm worried about the attendance loss from the kids in the dorms. Planning a game while no one is literally on campus is a really stupid thing to do. The people who live in town or live in DFW won't be hard to convince if they already love the gameday stuff, but the kids who don't live around may be hard to keep as some have 3+ hours to drive.

The simple fact is that we're going to lose some people because of the scheduling.

Many of the kids will be gone, and there is nothing that we can do about that.

How about this as a promotion geared towards the adults. Reward the loyal fan base by sending 5 extra prime tickets to every season ticket holder. NOT WORTHLESS ENDZONE SEATS. Make sure that they're mailed early enough to give fans a chance to plan before the holidays.

Sure many tickets will go unused, but it will insure that many season ticket holders will make the effort to show for the games, and they will have the ability to share the experience with friends and family for free.

I would also work with the North Texas Exes. Sending 2 PRIME tickets to each member would possibly get a good return for next season. If nothing else, it would give Exes members the feeling that they are getting something for their annual contribution.

This will be our last chance to expose the program to new fans before next season's ticket drive starts. We need to take full advantage of it.

The 2006 schedule makes season tickets a sellable commodity, we just need people to become familiar with the North Texas game-day experience. It has changed, and our target audience is not yet familiar with the product.
