I WOULD ADD SOME HISTORY AND ANALYSIS ABOUT WHERE WE ARE AND

CAME FROM. WE COMPETED WITH AND DEFEATED THE LIKES OF

UT, TX TECH, TENNESSEE, MISS. ST., OK ST., HOUSTON, NEW MEXICO, RICE,

FLORIDA ST., MIAMI, ECT., CORKY NELSON AND HAYDEN FRY DID THIS WITH

A LOT LESS $, FACILITIES, AND FAN SUPPORT WE HAVE NOW!!! I WORRY

THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE EXCUSES INSTEAD OF PRODUCING A

PROGRAM THAT DOESN'T COMPETE AT HOME WITH THE TULSAS OF COLLEGE

FOOTBALL. I'VE GONE TO NORTH TEXAS GAMES FOR 37 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER

SEEN US BEAT BY 50 POINTS AND I'M SURE GRAY EAGLE & SILVER CAN

SAY THE SAME. I ALSO WAS THERE TUESDAY AND WANT TO COMMEND RV

AND STAFF FOR GETTING A GREAT CROWD WITH A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND

WISHED HAYDEN OR CORKY COULD COACH THIS INEXPIERNCED TALENT.

CORKY COMPETED AND WON TX TECH, RICE & NEW MEXICO WITH 65 SCHOLARSHIP. I'M WORRIED THAT WE ARE GOING TO

LOSE RV THE WAY WE LOST DR. POHL, BECAUSE OF THE POWERS IN PLACE.

I don't think most people know or understand what is happening behind the scenes. Or how DD got his contract. What is going on with the BOR and how bad of shape we could be in if this crap goes unchecked

I think its been a long time over due for the alumni to unite and I think RV is a good leader with the right ideas to get united around.

I think there are better people much more in the know with details and names on this board then me I was only enlightened on Tuesday night by some long time fans. But it boils down to there are people on the board of regents that are hand cuffing RV and probably Dr. Pohl. They are not giving these men in many cases the freedom to do their job instead they are forcing their will on them. Regardless of what should be done and what the alumni want.

So I believe there is much speculation that this causing a lot of bad blood and frustration for Dr. Pohl and for RV. That RV will probably get frustrated and move on long before we get rid of DD. Plus if I understand it correctly DD and RV have quite a rift going between them. To top it off DD now does not answer to RV, but vacations with the chairman of the board if I got that straight.

I think "ttunt" was referring to the the same when he suggested this is how we are losing Dr. Pohl.

Like I said other than some rumors I heard floating around it was new to me Tuesday night.

ttunt, I was there to see some of those wins also. I would like to add to that list the final game in '88 in which NT went down to Houston and wiped the floor up with Rice. I remember the freak rain storm that came from no where in the 3rd quarter in which everyone headed for cover under the East side overhang. Everyone but the NT fans because we were having such a great time watching NT go up and down the field on a SWC school. The vast amount of luxuries that NT had to do without during it's 1-AA years made those wins fantastic for us. But as great as that season was in '88, and as great as the win over TCU in '86 was regionally for us, I would trade them all to have seen in person the win over Tennessee in '75.

I also hear this. politics like McInvale saying he will only support UNT as long as DD is there have no place at UNT. keep the blackmail money!! The BOR has favored athletics which is good only until they demand who coaches it too!! DD is killing any future fan base

I'm worried about the next UNT prez...will this guy just follow the whims of whomever is leading the anti-athletics end of the school and shutdown RV and make him quit?
