Everyone needs to go back and look at dickey ball. If the players take care of business and the ball this is a victory for NT. The fumble be J. Quinn was a big miscue and then the Meager INT was another big one. Take those 2 things away and it is a different ball game. Yes they should have scored off the fumble, but that is how the ball bounced. Think about all the other times the ball was loose and we were unable to come up with it. If we take care of the ball as we had in the past, this is a VICTORY for the MEAN GREEN.

I was very impressed with the way the comentators presented the athletic dept and the gowth to come. A very positive impression of the program as a whole and UNT is starting to get some LOVE.

Well said, Matt. By the way, that is one good looking kid.

Dickey ball is not going anywhere. We just need to do some things better. Here's hoping it happens sooner than later...

---There were several bad throws and even worse, several dropped balls that were very catchable........ Can't blame coaches very much for those.

---No doubt there are probably better coaches but there are many more terrible coaches and we have had a few of those. DD has done better than anyone else since Fry in my opinion. Most of the outstanding coaches are at colleges that have paychecks many times what we pay, and if we had one of them they would be short term because someone would offer them much more to leave. I have absolutely no problem with the way this one was called.... didn't think much of the Tulsa or So.Miss game. This time the players (on offense especially) didn't get the job done.

---Coaches can absolutely effect stupid penalties by players.. Players make mistakes but usually unsportsmanike, lining up offsides, and few others aren't forgivable and should never happen.

Matt,

As a former player, do you think a player (take Cotton & Covington for an example) should be punished for a stupid unsportsmanlike penalty that cost the team 15 yards & momentum?

What does DD do to players who commit an unsportsmanlike penalty, what are the consiquences?

Honestly, I was able to stomach the loss last night when I looked up and saw 17,600 other mean green fans sitting around me on an Tuesday night. The fact that there were that many people there after watching us get it handed to us by TU was astounding. That is not typical NT fan support and I for one was very impressed. I just hope that trend continues, as I believe it will.

Also, special kudos to the students. I was VERY impressed, probably 90% of them were wearing the new green color and were into most of the game. Stick with it guys! biggrin.gif

I know that DD has always taken consideration to each incedent and never thrown them together. I am sure there is more than meets the eye as there usually is with an incedent like that. All I saw was a NT players helment come flying off and the next thing I know it is first down Trojans.

Hopefully, my comments/criticisms of DD/Ramon will be taken as constructive.

First off, J-Mo should be getting most of the reps at TB. He is clearly the better runner, although, I love PC.

Secondly, J. Quinn should be running the deep routes, NOT Muzzy. Zack is too small for those type of routes. (i.e., the interception that was taken out of his hands, and the numerous tipped passes intended for him. Zack should be used for the quick screens and slant routes.

Third, PLEASE! When we are in obvious passing situations, STOP with the play action! No one falls and it and it puts too much pressure on Meager. Make it easier on him by putting him in the shotgun.

Lastly, give the back-up QB's some reps. Sometimes players can learn better when they sit a while.

And for those un-sportsman like conduct penalties, RUN THEIR BUTTS OFF after practice. Nothing like a few gassers to adjust ones' attitude.

My 2 cents...out. dry.gif

I assume you are referring to the play action pass when we were close to the goal line at the north end of the field . If you recall for the the first time in the game Cobb and Thomas were both in the backfield,in a veer set. As the play developed both went to the left and DM bootlegged to the right to attempt the pass. I thought and still think this was a good plan on the part of the coaching staff. However, I also think , the play would have been much more effective if both Thomas and Cobb had been in the backfield prior to that and we had shown some ability to run the ball out of that formation.
