Maybe if Texas school districts weren't focused on having the biggest stadium or State Championship, they would have more money to provide better education. Sports coaches usually earn 175% of what a math teacher earns in the same district. Nothing says “Waste of money” more than a $90 million dollar Football stadium behind a high school that's sitting empty 9 months out of the year!
So have you ever signed on at a job, then moved on to another company that pays you more?
I bet you signed a commitment for your salary at the previous stop, but obviously did not "honor" it into perpetuity...
Are you a part of "the problem"?
Again, the old NCAA is long gone. Sadly.
Holding these teenagers to loyalty standards that were forced in those past years simply won't happen. There are opportunities for these young men to be paid serious money now. I can't be mad at them.
Players absolutely caused this mess. They agreed to a play football for a free education. Nobody forced them to sign a scholarship and play football. They can quit anytime. But don't say you're going to hold the school hostage for more.
