AD taking the fun out game!

Just spoke with the Ticket Department and asked if we could bring our 3 x 5 battle flag. They told me no. It is ridiculous that we can't wave the UNIVERISTY- and ATHLETIC- sanctioned battle flag at a game on NATIONAL T.V.

I believe the University is trying to make it difficult to support the Football team by taking the fun out of the game experience.

WHY?

---Take the flag...but no pole.... you can always have a group hold it by hand.. Getting that inside should not be a problem. Put under shirt if neccessary.

----They may object to the pole because of blocked view of others and/or afraid someone will get "clobbered" by it.

From the athletic website:

Prohibited Items

Prohibited items include but are not limited to: fireworks, weapons, flag poles, laser pointers, dogs and animals, explosive devices, artificial noise makers, outside food and drink (including tortillas), alcoholic beverages, hard-sided bags, suitcases, glass or metal beverage containers, flasks, coolers, thermoses, aerosol spray cans, umbrellas, seat backs, video recorders and tripods.

Banners and Signs

Handheld banners, signs and flags are permitted that do not contain profanity or derogatory statements and do not obstruct the view of other spectators. No banners, signs or flags may be hung at Fouts Field without the prior approval of the Athletic Department

So it looks like you can bring your flag just not the flagpole.

Nice...... I like how they had to add this note.

Doesn't stop people from bringing them to the games though. Can you imagine how cool it would look for North Texas to score a touchdown and have the cameras pan around to the deluge of tortillas from the students and alumni sides?

*sigh* A girl can dream, right? smile.gif
