Math looks spot on. Given that we have 1 more home game than we did last year, I had hoped that would help us exceed last year's total attendance. Unfortunately, it appears exceeding average attendance or total attendance is not in the cards and we are looking at a significant attendance drop-off all while we are winning.
We only had 3 games above 5K last year (7,239 for SMU, 5,689 for Memphis and 5,247 for UTSA).
It looks like his numbers cratered: https://www.maxpreps.com/tx/houston/st-thomas-catholic-eagles/athletes/roy-thomas-jenkins/football/stats/?careerid=om3js31luc7i2
He had out-of-this-world numbers as a freshman, and as a senior he threw only 12 TDs against 10 INTs? Going by the above link, he didn't play at all his junior year. I'm sure he greatly cooled as a prospect.
If I did the math correctly, we need to average 5,077 fans per game the last 7 to surpass last year's total attendance, and 5,670 fans per game to surpass last year's average.
