Mean Green Offense Feeling Blue

The Mean Green offense has been struggling early in the 2005 season to find consitency. The duo of Hut Alred and Abner Haynes have found little room to run after big pre-season expectations. Quarterback Scott Davis has looked average completing few passes and rushing for even fewer. Freshman back-up Ken Washington has seen limited action but has not faired much better. The offensive line has been offensive for lack of a better word. Starters. Philip Armour, P.B. Stovall, Quincy Armstrong, Brian Waters, and Glen Holloway. Have given up 8 sacks and have provided few holes for the running game to get going. Coach Rod Rust has shown frustration with the execution from the players and points to the downfiled blocking of receivers John Love and Troy Redwine as examples of not paying attention to the little things that can make a difference. "I think that the kids need to step it up and start executing the game plan that I have put into place". If the team doesn't start clicking, you will see dwindling support and few fans at Eagle Stadium. Tight End Luis Silva sums it up well, "If we can't execute the wing T to perfection like coach Rust expects, we won't see many fans the rest of the year".
