Once again this season the 1500lb Victory Bell was hidden away from sight over behind the stands on the southwest side.

I keep asking why the damn thing cannot be placed behind the endzone on the concrete, out into the open for all to see and hear and I keep getting told it's too heavy to roll over the track. HorseShit!

There was a 12,000lb ambulance sitting on it all night long at the north end of the track and there has been tractors and other equipment rolling over it all summer long while the new turf was being installed. Bring in 4 sheets of plywood to roll over, something, anything to make it happen?

Our alumni step up and bring back a very expensive, long standing tradition after several years of absence and it gets pushed aside. I'm so tired of the excuses.

Wears me out!

the bell rang 3 times that i heard. it rings for scores and things mentioned earlier, plus last season (and I hope it continues for all seasons) fans can follow the bell (tug) vehicle over to the admin building for the lighting of the victory lights and the bell can be rung all thru the denton streets. homecoming parade, drive and ring. it was outside the mean green village for tailgating but I think there should be a more active role of it there as well. ring the players marching out, ring the start of tailgating, ring for the sake of ringing!

you can always ring my bell! biggrin.gif

The bell and the tug are just too cool not to be utilized.

It should ring for the start of the Mean Green March directly preceding the firing of the cannon. It should also ring 30 minutes before kickoff as a reminder to wrap up tailgating and get into the stadium.

...and if you don't pack up and start walking into the stadium the "tug" will run over your stuff............ cool.gif
