asked.

I wasnt' able to attend, but listened from Houston, and George and Hank mentioned that the officials were a CUSA crew. Why would we not have Sun Belt officials considering this was our home game?

I'm sure this was a stipulation Tusla threw in there in order to agree to play at the landfill we like to call fouts field. In the end we agreed because we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a winnable OOC team in our house. The positive was the higher attendance, the negatives, well we all know what those are. rolleyes.gif

I'm not trying to dump anything on the officials, I just found it curious that these weren't Sun Belt officials. True Fouts isn't the best stadium around, but I would wager a bet that it is better than Tulsa's dump.

I shudder at the thought of a stadium worse than fouts... blink.gif

More seats doesn't equate into nicer stadium. It is in poor shape.

Not saying it is nicer. I was just posting the picture and info for all to see. It was built in 1930 so it is pretty old.

that picture shows me nothing of the stadium... it looks full, thats it. but we don't know who they are playing (it could be their "baylor" game). i agree, i stadium built in 1930 has to be run down.

please don't say "looks good" when it is an aerial shot made to look good.

any one been there?

Skelly was expanded in 1965. The endzone seats on the left side of the picture are no longer there. Phase I of the Skelly remodel is underway and includes the construction of a north endzone building in its place. The east facade is the well taken care of and from what I understand, the origional. It is very beautiful. The west side needs work. When they expanded by adding the upper seating, they covered the beautiful brick with the erector-set seating. Hopefully they will fix that up in Phase II or III.

Phases II and III (yet to come) are supposed to include redoing the west seating (upper), restrooms, concessions, bowling in the south endzone, press box, etc.

Lifer seriously take off your beer googles when looking at fouts, its is a proven historical landfill...

also the tulsa stadium is what any one of us mean green fans would love to even dream about having here in denton.... to say that stadium is in poor shape and to also defend fouts being a dump, is very stupid.

I've been going to Fouts since the late 60's. I'm well aware of where it stands in the "dump-heap" rankings, but I've talked to too many people that have been to Tulsa that said it was in terrible shape. I'm glad to see they are remodeling.
