Vanderlaan-Newland to donate money to MG Club

Saw this on the front page of the athletic website, but Vanderlaan-Newland Real Estate will be donating $5 towards the Mean Green Club for each yard that Jamario and Patrick run for this year. So far the count is up to $805. Should be a good chunk of change at the end of the season going to the MG Club.

The Vanderlaan-Newland Real Estate Challenge

Vanderlaan-Newland Real Estate will be tracking the cumulative rushing yardage for Mean Green running backs Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas during the 2005 football campaign. As part of the "Real Estate Challenge", Vanderlann-Newland will contribute $5 per yard gained by Cobbs and Thomas to the Mean Green Club's athletic scholarship fund.

How much "real estate" can the Mean Green backfield combine for? So far, the number stands at 161 yards after one game. That's good for $805 that will go directly to the Mean Green Club. For more information on the Mean Green Club, call 940-369-7034.
