Pros:

We have a great shot at avoiding an 0-1 start and a demoralizing opening game loss.

This is debatable, but we should risk fewer injuries since we won't be facing as many physical mismatches.

Jamario/Patrick could average 200 yards/game for the first half of the season.

We still get paid.

Cons:

We have zero live-game experience before our SBC opener.

Playing LSU in the middle of our SBC schedule could disrupt our momentum.

We still have to play a much superior opponent on their home turf.

I'll add more as I think of them. Please contribute your own pros/cons or feel free to disagree with mine.

Con: Having a key player injured by playing a B©S heavy weight (LSU) the middle of the schedule.

Pro: Have a chance to sneak up on a LSU team that might be looking ahead to its next conference opponent.

I wonder how the players feel about getting the LSU game back on the schedule. I hope they can stay really focused on the task at hand tomorrow. Distractions like all this uncertainty and change are not good, though it should not make for an excuse. They need to come out sharp and intense and stay that way. That is all that matters.

I agree with everything above, but what about this scenario (unfortunately, it begins with something none of us want!):

We lose to MUTS, but then MUTS loses 2 games, say to Troy and Florida Atlantic. That means we would need to win the last two SBC games to retain the championship and the bowl, and both games will be at home. If we lose only 1, MUTS would get the tiebreaker. But I'd rather have those last 2 must-win games at home!

Of course, this speculation can be avoided if we just BEAT M.U.T.S.!
