When they are building $750 million bridges to nowhere in Alaska I don't think it is just Louisiana politics that supports pork. The budget bill just signed by Bush and passed by Congress has more pork in it than ever in history. Go to one of the sites dedicated to fighting the budget deficit and read the details on what our "leaders" are up to in this department. They could probably teach a thing or two to the folks in Louisiana and Mississippi (which still has several military sites the Pentagon doesn't want or need).
