I guess the doom and gloom mentality is a product of winning 4 straight conference titles and the fear that we might slip a little. The more I think about the upcoming game, the more I like our chances of starting 1-0.

- Meager is more than capable in a run-oriented offense

- Two of the best running backs in the nation behind a nice O-Line

- Good group of receivers

- Linebackers will be much, much better, and I feel good about the corners

- Safeties - just not sure yet - time will tell

- D-Line - again, time will tell

All in all, I like this team. Last year's game vs. MTSU in our house started off awful as we were behind 14-0 before Jamario took over. I see our running game once again wearing the MTSU defense down and keeping their offense off the field.

i'm hoping we do run some extra 3-4 defenses if the lb's are so much better/deeper than last year. Hopefully that experience will help them cover tight ends / backs a little better...Mendoza struggled alot last year in that regard.
