This game will be tough for us since Redsihrt junior, Clint Marks, will return for the Blue Raider offense that led the SunBelt in passing last season.

We all know our secondary, especially the short passes were killing us last year, so hopefully our new coach will have their game stepped up.

A side note for Marks, is last year he threw for 2,749 yards and completing 70.4 percent of his passes. He finished third in the nation in passing percentage.

Their running game is where they are weak and might be still since they do not have a clear favorite for the starting position. We all know what a balanced attack can do to a defense. It sounds like they are where we are, but we have the running game in place.

One good note is they have to replace Kelly Wright, who was the first Middle Tennesee player to post back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons. Looks like they will still have a decent receiving corps.

Offensive line is returning three of their five starters, so the line looks mostly intact.

Defense as a whole will return 10 out of 11 starters, talk about expeirence. Looks like we have our work cut out for us, but I believe in North Texas and looking forward to a good season.

I think our pass defense will improve greatly over last year. It has to, no where else to go but up. But Covington looks very strong with last year under his belt, and Branch adds experience and major speed. That along with a much more agressive style of play insertey by Coach Malone I can't see our pass defense doing nothing but improve. The question for us is, can our D Line put any pressure on Marks? That's what worries me. If he has all day they will eat us alive.

Hopefully our ball control offense rules........again, and we won't have to worry about their offense?

This is going to be THE GAME. I wouldn't miss it for anything and am glad I planned ahead to go.

Expect a very nervous guy wearing a blue jump suit running up and down the MUTS sideline. This game is huge for the MUTS, their coach and the mental state of Blue Raider land. If the MUTS are true to form, they will crack under the pressure and when they lose, all hell will break loose in the 'Boro rolleyes.gif

I agree that it is THE GAME in SBC play, but if we are ever to move on up the Tulsa and La Tech games carry equal importance. I do know that from the MUTS site that it is still scheduled to be televised on ESPN+. Does anyone know the DFW feed? 52, 27----? I plan to have it taped while out of town. See you all for Tulsa and hopefully finally a non-conference win against C-USA!!
