College football, as great as it is, takes a back seat and our thoughts turn to New Orleans and the great people of Louisiana. I am worried for them.

Now, if the game cannot be played in Baton Rouge...let's open up the gates of Fouts Field and welcome the LSU Tigers. As crazy as it may seem, we could split the gate with them, and put another 30,000 chairback seats on the track, making Fouts capacity 60, 500. The view would be really close. They could bus up the Tiger band. They would be the guests of The Great Green Brigade!!!!! Plum would be tickled pink. This would be "Bands Over North Texas." If the Tiger Band couldn't make it to the game, we could invite The Wylie Pirates Band (whose school colors are Maroon and White)...yet their fight song sounds exactly like "Texas Fight."

I'm staying up tonight watching Katrina and hoping for the best for all Louisiana.

The hurricane will be over but because of the clean up and destruction, it will be a complete mess.... including electric power...

If it is not cancelled. It would think, Denton, Texas Stadium, Cotton Bowl or A&M... in that order. I would think a large amount of their fans will have too many personal prolems to go to a football game so moving it out of the area would not be to big of a problem.

There are no common open dates until in December... which is too late.. I would think but Cal and So Miss played late last year.

Thats sounds like a nice way to break in our new turf against a top 5 team. If only it could be under better circumstances. If we can't play in death valley I don't see them moving the game to Denton. I would guess that they would go ahead and cancel it. Then giving the players some time to check in with family and friends.

I just heard there is Tropical Storm 13 about to hit the West Indies... if Katrina (cross our fingers) doesn't do to much harm, the new storm could really be detrimental to the clean up process.

as much i would love the Fouts LSU game, my prayers are the storm isn't too bad.

That storm is too far away to tell where or even if it will hit the US coast.

I would love to see it in Denton. But if they can't play in Baton Rouge on Saturday...they'll probably move the game to later in the season on an open date for both teams. I don't think Katrina is going to have the impact on BR that it will on New Orleans though. There's a good chance they'll be lining up at 7:00 on Saturday night.
