CONGRATULATIONS to former UNT soccer player MARILYN MARIN who has been named as the Sun Belt's all time best player ! Also UNT is picked to repeat as conference champs !

The Championship Prowess is spreading, pretty soon when it comes time to name the preseason picks, there all just going to say NT accross the board, now who will come in second.

The NT soccer team opens play this weekend at the 2005 Miner Classic.

We open on Friday at 1:00 PM against Eastern illinois. The Lady Panthers were 13-6-2 last season and lost 4-0 to Notre Dame in the 1st round of the in the NCAA Tournament.

We play UTEP on Saturday at 1:00 PM. The Lady Miners finished 13-5-1 last season.

In soccer you are awarded 2 points for a goal and 1 point for an assist.

Points is the more important statistic as it tells you whether you are a complete player or just a "poacher." You'll see a lot of players at every level of soccer competition who have an impressive goals per game average but that number will also match their points per game average. That just means they wait for other people to do the dirty work of getting the ball and working it downfield then screams "pass" so that they can take shots.
