Quick question for you. I have heard all different stories about what time is necessary to get to the games for tailgating and finding a place to park. What would you say is the latest you can arrive and still find a place to park? Thanks for the information you have been providing. Hope to see you there.

If I can find a ride from Killeen then you will see me there.

You can always find a place to park its just a matter of how far your gonna have to walk to get where you want to go.

I am not sure where they are gonna have the NT tailgate party and if I knew exactly where that is I could tell you everything to the dot. If that is where you are looking to go. If not then it really doesnt matter.

If I am there I get out and set our stuff up at 6 in the morning, but the word I get from my friends is that they are going out about 8. By that time parking anywhere on campus is gonna be slim. Now there are plenty of spots right off of campus that you can park for either free or in someones yard or parking lot for a small fee. Park there your looking at a 5 mintue walk to the stadium.

now if you get there anywhere between 1ish and right before game time, GOOD LUCK to you. You are gonna need to park a ways away and take a bus.

but like I said hit me up with a pm letting me know what your plans are and I can give you better hints at what to do.

Before y'all get ready to come down you might want to keep your eyes on the weather channel at 50 past the hour.

The radar is actually picking up Scrappy and the Mean Green Nation headed into to Baton Rouge for a surprise attack. The red will turn to green at game time. biggrin.gif

With the KATRINA looming, the big red stick could be very very wet on Sept.3

That might help NT.

If that thing gets anywhere close to hitting BR close to gameday the game will be moved.

The only thing we can hope for and I say this with saddness because those people dont need anymore, but it needs to turn up into Fl.

Should the game be moved because of Katrina, where would it be moved to?  We were going to fly in for the game but I'm beginning to rethink that plan.

I have no idea the only good thing this as it stands right now it should make landfall on Tuesday night. So there will be plenty of time to change plans.

but since it is a OOC game I dont know if they would make it up or play at a netural site on the same saturday. I have no clue as to this.

eh... i'm sure it'll be dry in Denton, Tigahz!  Why don't we switch the game to Fouts!

How diasapointed would they be? 85,000 LSU fans fighting over 30,500 fouts seats and being attacked by kamakazi crickets.

85,00 its alittle more then that on gameday. Thats how many get into the stadium. There is usually 150,000 on campus tailgating.

Digging around in the way back machine today?

I got a chuckle out of it at least.

You know, when my old Texas HS football team was playing a home game against the much more talented Van Vleck HS Leopards, a Gulf Coast 2-day rain hit my home area leaving lakes of water on Panther Stadium. It created such havoc with the quality of play (fumbleitus) that the heavily-favored Leopards just barely beat my team and we felt pretty good about what we thought would be a blood-letting of a Texas HS football game.

Water and lots of it on a football field can sometimes be somewhat an equalizer, but having lived thru a few hurricanes I would not wish that kind of havoc on Louisiana or anyone on the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico in order to create an equalizer for a college football game. huh.gif

I did too. Was playmaker our resident hurricane specialist? Where is he when you need him? I still recall with horror that picture Adler posted of the devastation he received at his home. I think Adler is still trying to rebuild between his posts to Steve and Barry's.
