Well this has got to be some kind of Texas lovefest because I drove through Austin last year with my LSU flags on my car and got egged.

And comparing Drunk fans to people who kill people by drinking and driving is CLASSLESS!

LSU does not need to get anything under control because it is a small select section that gets involved in that behavior.

And if you just cant take a little ribbing from drunks and just laugh it off then just stay in the comfort of your own home where you can be protected from all the evils of the world.

----I live in one of the most rabid football fan areas in the country, Midland /Odessa, (West-Texas) as in "Friday Night Lights". I stand behind my comments. CONSISTANT misbehavior by drunks should not be tolerated. Drunkeness in not a good excuse nor is the excuse "the fans in next state are no bettter".

And that is suppose to have some kind of baring in the conversation that is going on. Or am I suppose to be impressed with that comment or does that justify all of your remarks with the highest of authority.

Would you like a cookie, is that it?

No way you can compare LSU to Midland/Odessa.

I think the point he's trying to make is that football passion runs as deep if not deeper (Down to the HS level) in Texas as is does in SEC country. So passionate fans is not an excuse.

Crip*TeamKatt- First thing. I want to thank you for your service to our country. I honor your service. You and your comrade-in-arms are owed a debt by the rest of us that can never be repaid.

Ok, now moving on. There are drunk assholes at every venue. Every school has to put up with them, but there are several people on this board that have had less than possitive experiences at LSU, Im sure you have possitive experiences at Tiger games. You and your group seem to be a hospitable bunch. Nobody here is saying anything different, But is only takes a few assholes to ruin a visiting fans experience. These few bad apples are causing a great perception problem for LSU. One of my fraternity brothers grew up in New Orleans and going to LSU games. Even he refuses to go the game, That says a lot.

And taunting and tiger bait calls are one thing, but throwing ice and spitting on someone crosses the line to become assualt. It's sad that visiting fans can't travel to experience a great college football experience without worrying about being assulted, insulted, and having their vehicles vandalized. I would think the University would be putting some serious effort into correcting this problem.

Crip, I appreciate you coming on here and inviting our fans to your tailgate, etc... I have a few friends that are LSU alums that have invited me down to Baton Rouge also. I have just heard too many stories with the same theme for there not to be any validity to them. LSU is known for this, they celebrate it and it is not going to change.

Again Crip, you and a few LSU fans that I know seem like good people, but the majority is giving you all a bad name.

I have a few friends who went to LSU, and they're harmless. My fam. is all Ole Miss fam -- I "rebelled" (no pun intended) and went to SMU.

But -- I will never forget being a toddler and having ice thrown at my family and our group of friends for an Ole Miss/LSU game by Tiger students.

You won't get liquor bottles thrown at you (popular myth), but empty plastic coke bottles flying around might come your way. Will that physically hurt? No ... do the comments physically or mentally or emotionally hurt? No, esp. not when you see who's making them anyways.

I think people's biggest problem is just the serious lack of respect that many LSU fans have for other people. I'm sure the guy on this board, like some of my buddies that went there, is fine. It's just the general and overall tone of that place. It's a "hostile" stadium not only between the teams- but you feel as if what the linemen are saying to each other is tame compared to what LSU fans are spouting off to opponents. If it's in the student section, fine -- but it just seems there's not stopping them from the obscenities in front of kids. I remember learning a few new "words" on that same road trip. haha.

If that really happened at Ole Miss, that is truly awful. I'm embarassed that even a small group of Rebel fans would act that way. The fact you're willing to go back shows you don't hold grudges -- I wouldn't go back anywhere that treated me like that. But, there's a huge difference between a single person having a bad experience ... and several fans of several teams coming back complaining.

However there are enough "bad apples" in Baton Rouge that are giving the place a bad reputation.....I'll never go back.

Therein lies the problem with LSU fans. A game at Tiger Stadium is not just for the bad apples of Baton Rouge to attend. It's actually a "happening" for the whole state of Louisiana, and I dare say, several of the states that border Louisiana. What you end up with is Coonasses from all over the state, converging on Tigers Stadium, juiced up with pre-game booze, ready to take on any opposing teams' fans and football team. Anything goes. I'll never attend another game there unless it's for the National Championship.

I have tried to get all to see that going to games in Death Valley isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be, and to show y'all that it has happened to everyone at least once.

I have no idea what kind of fans y'all have up there, but I would be willing to guess that y'all have your share of assholes too.

We do have a good group and are willing to show anyone that wants to the better side of LSU tailgating if anyone is intrested.

Baby Arm I would like to express my appreication for the thank you. Sometimes its easy to forget that there are people out there that are gratefully for what we do.

And I apoloigize again for y'all bad experencies and I hope that anyone that does come down for this game can have a good time and come back to let y'all know.

mine is on it's way. This is going to be one of those "go-just-to-say-you've-been" football trips. If there are ANY LSU fans that are as friendly, fun, and "full-of-it" like the Lafayette fans, then this could turn out to be a pretty good trip.

Hopefully the group I'll be with will be able to avoid the "Deliverance Cajuns" that everyone is talking about.

Here are my 2 cents. Death Valley is a rough place for visiting fans. I have lived in 2 different SEC towns and had season tickets in both locations and still have my LSU season tickets. I lived in LA for one year and went to every LSU home game. They are relentless on the opposing fans, no matter who you are (Idaho, UGA,etc.) or what age.

Because of this attitude toward the opposing fan, I have not made up my mind if I will take my family. I would love for my 7 and 10 year olds to experience the atmosphere of Death Valley, but I do not want them to be the targets of the LSU abuse. My oldest son has visited alot of great stadiums and games, but I am not sure that we/he can take what LSU will dish out.

With this said, I can say that you will never experience tailgating like it is done at LSU. If they do not get there a few days in advance, they will be there by 8:00am for the 7:00pm kickoff. Hell, they even move Saturday night mass to accomdate their fans.

Go to Baton Rouge and wear your MEAN GREEN PROUD!! Be ready to be called every thing under the sun. Have a thick skin. I will be there with mine, it just might be with 3 other buddies instead of my family.
