For YEARS I (as well as many other people) have complained about the lack of spirit traditions at North Texas. I even went so far as to say that there is NOT even a North Texas yell (other than the generic "Go North Texas, Go North Texas, Go! Go!) I've pointed out that even TCU has a unique yell; it's stupid (it starts with "Bim Bam Razoo"..obviously something out of the 20's) but it's THEIR stupid yell. And near as I can tell, they require all of their students to learn it. The reason I say that is because NORMLFROG once recited the whole thing to me.

My exchange with 91 about the book "Down the Corridor of Years" cause me to glance through my copy of the book, and while doing so, guess what I found? I found a picture of a "spirit card" (circa 1908) that had...are you ready for this, A NORTH TEXAS YELL! So folks, here for your education AND amusement is OUR STUPID YELL! Again, circa 1908.

I and some of the "older" Talons have known that chant for years. Austin Talon found it one day and we used to yell it at games...the facial expressions of those around us were priceless.

LETS DO IT...................

We could incorporate "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE" an old Rogers and Hammerstein song. Usually sung at British soccer matches. If you want a rendetion of what it sounds like check out "Pink Floyds Meddle" played at the end of "FEARLESS"

This would take some doing getting everyone on board but sounds great when a sports crowd kicks it in gear.

Could be similar to "Eyes of Texas" that UTA sings once a game.

What's sad is that we tried to introduce an organized chant at the bowl game last year. From what I remember, we couldn't get anyone in our section to even try it. It seemed like a good chant though.
