Mean Green Football Begins Fall Drills

DENTON (8/10/05) - The North Texas football team began preparations for its Sept. 3 meeting with Louisiana State with its first set of practices today at the new Mean Green Athletic Complex.

Freshman and newcomers hit the field at 8 a.m., while the varsity had its first practice at 4 p.m. in shorts and helmets.

Players went through a no-contact, fast-paced workout full of calisthenics and sprints to help them get back up to speed from the off-season.

Freshmen and varsity will practice separately until Friday morning. The team will begin full-contact drills on Sunday with two-a-days starting on Monday morning.

The team practiced without seniors Arthur McNac, Lee Clay and Roy Bishop who have not joined the team for fall practice due to various reasons.

      Minnesota

      Game shows to be on B1G+ which is 12.99 per month. Hopefully there's other options for the local UNT fans. I get tired of subscribing and canceling to random streaming services. To add, I dislike scheduling opponents who will only offer live streaming through their service. I'd rather play a smaller midmajor on ESPN+ than Minnesota. Oh well.

      If this isn’t a sellout…

      If this isn’t a sellout, then we may never sellout DATCU. We’re having a great season. Exciting offense with star QB. Record enrollment. Playing a BRAND NAME school with huge following that is nationally ranked. I, personally, bought 13 tickets and invited friends. Will be disappointed if this isn’t a sellout.

      WBB at Oregon (11/12/24)

      The 2-0 ladies deserve a game thread. After taking care of business against two D1 opponents this week, they travel to Eugene to play an Oregon Ducks team in what should be a winnable game. The Lady Ducks are 2-0 after wins over California Baptist and Nevada, but are coming off a season in which they finished last in the Pac-12 at 11-21, 2-16 and lost in the conference tournament to Colorado, 79-30. After SFA transfer Kyla Deck led the way against Alcorn State with 27 points, the ladies used a much more balanced effort yesterday to beat Texas Southern. Four were in double figures: Moore with 20, Wooten with 16, Hardaway with 15, and Lampkin with 11. The ladies play at a fast pace but still are too sloppy with the ball from what I picked up yesterday. This will be a great opportunity for a win against a power conference opponent.

      Yes he did. It would be assisting to not acknowledge it. But notice he also said the result wasn’t satisfactory “the last couple of weeks.” It has been two years.
