ND is the epitome of a stereotyped, discriminatory mascot.

Irish heritage is directly correlated with FIGHTING, and the masoct is dressed up in a ridiculous leprechaun suit.

Irish people were discriminated against when they first arrived here ... and no one complains about that. Why isn't the NCAA calling for their head??

Well, the NCAA can't regulate your mascot being in regular season games -- but they can regulate how many times it appears in your media guide??

I happened to catch some of Mike&Mike this morning on ESPN Radio, they had on Dickie V on the show, and they were talking about this. They brought up the point that this makes absolutely no sense in that is a school apparently supposed to have two nicknames now; one for the regular season and one for the tournys. Also brought up another good point in that they are dealing with this "issue" when there are more importnant issues to the student-athlete that they are pushing aside for this agenda.

Those are hard issues to resolve or to make progress with. Much easier to deal with nicknames, mascots, and logos.

I'm not a huge fan of Florida State, and I too think this is a ridiculous ban by the NCAA, but I am going to miss seeing the FSU Chief enter the stadium and throw the flaming spear into the ground. That is one of the best traditions around.
