Dr. Pohl,

I know you are probably much too busy to read an internet fan board, but I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for what you have done for NT athletics. You have shown the country who North Texas is through the "Window" that is athletics. We have YOU to thank for:

1. The new athletic center

2. Tennis complex

3. Womens sports complex

4. Liberty Christian purchase

5. New baseball stadium

6. Student rec center

7. College of Engineering

8. New Chemistry building

9. New student health center

You have done an amazing job and the Mean Green Nation owes you a debt of gratitude. I wish you well in wherever your career takes you.

I'm in shock and mourning. Dr. Pohl is fantastic and his leadership and vision has been extraordinary. It is not unusual for a person of his caliber to give his all for a few years, then move on for a fresh set of challenges to renew the drive. Nonetheless, he will be missed and his tenure here has flown by in a heartbeat. Too soon to leave us, Dr. Pohl, too soon ... much too soon.

Dr. Pohl, even though you still have a year left at UNT, you will be dearly missed. Thanks for everything you have done to get UNT noticed. You will be missed so much and best of luck!

      Softball vs. UAB (4/17 & 4/18/25)

      Mother Nature disrupts another softball series. With Easter on Sunday, and bad weather expected Saturday, the ladies will play one game tomorrow and a doubleheader Friday starting at 3 PM. Tight race in The American as we enter the last three conference series. UNT needs two wins this series to match their win total from last year. I maintain getting a top two seed is the highest priority but we are right there with #1 FAU and hold the tiebreaker, the only team in the conference to do so. Other Series This Weekend FAU @ East Carolina Memphis @ South Florida UTSA @ Charlotte Wichita State @ Tulsa I don't foresee South Florida or Charlotte losing this weekend, so a sweep at home against UAB is almost necessary.

      We’re not alone

      I read somewhere before the teams were even seeded that Florida, Auburn, Duke, and Houston were a step above every other team. There was some metric/stat they showed to back up the statement. So, yes, I think those teams were accurately seeded…though TT almost had something to say about it.

He reported also that Johnson left towards the end of the season. I knew I didn't see her any longer, but I thought maybe injuries, but it turns out she left like Abou did a few years back. Brackens went into the portal and has since landed at Tarleton State. The only people he says that are coming back are Tac, who was injured all season, Chania Price, and Talley.
