who and where will our seniors be drafted?

TJ Covington has a chance to go late in the draft because he is a pretty good cover corner, but more importantly because he is 6'2".

Cobbs may also go in the later rounds but I fear he will be considered too small and more of a 3rd down back. He will more than likely go as a free-agent.

If Cobbs out performs Thomas he will be a 3rd or 4th round pick, if not look for the 6th round. Covington will have a break out year this year, expect him to go in the 4th. Bazaldua in the 5th.

------Unless that NT program exagerates a lot..... he is large enough to be successful. This a list of pretty good current RBs and most aren't that much larger plus Cobbs will likely increase in weight some.

I don't think height matters too much on RB's unless you are going to use them alot for the passing game. Give me somone who has power and can break away in the open field. Smaller back = lower center of gravity.

After having met Cobbs in NO with my buddy that is, with out football measurement exaggeration, 5'9" Cobbs is closer to 5'7" or 7 1/2". He is definately not a full 5'9".

I think if Patrick has an awesome year he might go late (6th or 7th)...but I wouldn't think that anyone would go in the draft unless the run well (like Cody did in 2004). I wouldn't expect Patrick to run faster than 4.65 so I think he'll have to catch on as a FA.

I would like to see if PC really does get several touches in different facets of the game...running, catching, KR, PR, etc. His NFL stock will be improved if he can become a true utility type of player. He may only make it to ST in the NFL, but that salary will still be good.

Using the heights and weights from last season, here is how much smaller PC and JT are from the most recent class of RBs drafted into the NFL. I took out the smallest and largest RB drafted from both days and averaged the rest. Both are probably bigger now, so that just furthers the point.

Difference from first day picks:

Cobbs: 2 in, 13 lbs

Thomas: 0 in, 23 lbs

Difference from second day picks:

Cobbs: 2 in, 2 lbs

Thomas: 0 in, 12 lbs

PC is about 2 inches off the average NFL draftee at RB, but there were obviously a few his size. At his height, it won't be a factor. Durability, speed, and production will make the difference. Jamario will be close to prototypical size by the time he enters the draft.
