You're absolutely right about there being just as many underage non-greek drinkers as there are greek underage drinkers. My comment was in no way meant to single out the greeks as being the only underage drinkers. My point was that I saw a large group of students sitting around in the parking lot when they should be sitting in the stands. If they make the effort to show up at the stadium, the least they can do is go in - especially since it doesn't cost them anything.

And honestly, the underage drinking isn't what I have the biggest problem with. Although it's wrong, it was the absolute trashing of the parking lot that really irritated me. (that and the 4-year old I saw playing with beer cans) When students, or anyone else for that matter, sit around in the parking lot during games, they tend to leave their trash wherever it sits on the ground. That's no way to treat public property, and especially the school that's giving you an education.

I would love to see a large greek fanbase at NT. I've been going to games for the past four years, but I have yet to really see them at games. Maybe they aren't advertising that they're greek all that well, but I haven't seen more than five of them at a time at either football or basketball games. If they really are there, then I'm more than happy to see them. It's just in my experiences, they haven't been there.

As for doing my part, I was there with the Residence Hall Association at every game I could possibly attend. Some other organizations do support athletics. I wish more of them would do the same.

There needs to be a catchy sound, maybe ringing the bell over the loud speaker in the Stadium or something like that, something that grabs attention maybe the Dark Mark. If they Rang the bell for a few minutes, it would kinda get everyone moving.

How about the Eagle Sound...just pump up the speakers real loud! smile.gif

My mama always used a cow bell for my brother and I...that worked just fine!!! tongue.gif

No one understands the issue of security better than me.

However, I don't understand the reluctance by some people to at least try and help create a "real" college football experience at Fouts. Not only for us, but for the team and students as well.  There is nothing more uplifting for a team than to see fans come in early and cheer them as they are leaving the field after warm-ups. There is also nothing more uplifting for the fans and students than having a stadium full of fans to greet and/or participate with the Band when they make their entrance for the pre-game activities.

You only have to attend ONE Oklahoma football game to know what I'm talking about.  OR, just about ANY High School game in the area for that matter.

Right on. The only thing that makes for a real college football atmosphere is for us all to be in our seats when the team comes on the field. What must the players think when they come through the tunnel with maybe 1000 people in the stands--if we are lucky. What a deflating experience. Why fans continue to come in at the end of the 1st QTR, I will never understand...it boggles the mind. Is this Fouts Field Latin America?...no racial slur intended....just a cultural observation.

Agree, grad88, we must have the latest arriving crowd in NCAA D1-A.

Nothing in Fouts will ever truly be deafening. Loud? Sure, but not deafening.

objection.......!!!

I hoping there is an explosion in the near future when Fouts disappears from the face of the earth will be deafening.!!
