I am a recent grad at unt... and i would love nothing more than to sit behind the students in the student section. is that no longer possible!!?!!?! My father also enjoyed that area and i was hoping i could buy season tickets there. Is that a no go now!?

Correct. They're making all season ticket holders sit on the alumni side now. I too am a recent grad and was looking forward to sitting with some of my friends who are still in school.

However, they're making more room in the student's section (which is a very good thing) so I can't complain too much.

At least now the alumni side will be a bit more rowdy cool.gif

My friends and I purchased season tickets the past 2 years, and we've yet to sit in our seats. We always end up over on the student side. The ushers don't seem to care.

I think they're going to start caring. Last year, even when the student's section was full, they wouldn't allow students to sit in the empty season ticket seats. They're a bit more lenient with season ticket holders, but if the student's side is full (as I think it might be), you'll have to stay in your assigned seats.

With the exception of the Baylor game 2 years ago the student sections are never FULL. Student seating goes from section L to the endzone seats.......Those seats are never filled.

      Thanks @Green Otaku, I stand corrected on UNT receiving half-shares for the entire time of the deal. I've searched but haven't been able to find published specifics on the ramp up schedule. Unfortunately this still doesn't solve the dilemma we're about to find ourselves in. What dilemma you ask? Exhibit A: House vs NCAA Whether we like it or not, schools directly paying athletes via NIL is coming in the very near future and could happen as early as next fall. As the above linked ESPN article states, this antitrust settlement is currently on hold as the the judge in the case waits for both the plaintiffs and the NCAA to address her concerns. The lawyer for the plaintiffs has already signaled they are fine making the requested changes, so now we wait for the NCAA to agree. The NCAA has very little leverage so I expect them to begrudgingly agree. So what does this mean for us? Once this antitrust settlement takes hold, schools will have the green light to pay their athletes directly through NIL dollars. Those NIL dollars will come from revenue generated from ticket sales and you guessed it... TV media deals. For G5 teams, the vast majority of the NIL money will come from their TV media deals. Now let's consider the fact that UNT, UTSA, Rice, Charlotte, FAU, UAB, and Army are currently receiving half-shares in the AAC while the other seven AAC schools (Memphis, Tulane, USF, Temple, Tulsa, ECU, & Navy) are receiving full-share revenue deals. We're essentially playing in a two-tiered G5 conference for the foreseeable future, and unfortunately UNT is in the bottom tier when it comes to revenue share and being able to pay our athletes.       Agree. AF would be a great addition. I would also go after New Mexico for the BB program. I know it won't be liked on this board, but I would go after Liberty. They are and will continue to invest money, and you take away the one team from CUSA that could potentially be in the yearly mix for a playoff spot.

      I am sure that I'm in the minority....but I would rather try to keep the AAC intact and build it. To me, changing conferences every 2-3 years is ridiculous.

      Morris needs to own the Caponi hire

      No expert, but a well-coached team has the player in a position to make the plays, and then it becomes the responsibility of the players to make the plays. These players are not even close to being in the proper position to try and make the stops time after time. Games against Memphis, Tulane, and Army really worry me, and I really doubt they will call off the horses as Tech did if they are in that position.
