Scattershooting while coming across this from the department of putting the cart before the horse.....

Let me just say let's get the new stadium built before we do anything like this, BUT,

Check out this company based in Italy, TX. Site says they can build this cheaper than a small outdoor stadium, Enlarge the images on the site. This could be pretty cool to provide an indoor practice facility for football, but also with seating for soccer and indoor track and field.

Might be worth considering...

Great find, Baby Arm...

Thinking further outside the box, if you can include the use of such an indoor facility for the general students, then you have a facility the state of Texas can help fund (unless that has changed lately).

"Multi-use" indoor facility are the 2 key words in all this to get state funding since students would use it part of the time, too. This facility can always be made available for the prime usage of the Mean Green football team for 2-a-days in August when there are no students on campus and its hotter than all hades and be scheduled for our football team's use when we have inclement weather in Denton.

I don't think that facility in the link looks all that bad, either. I guess the soccer teams could use this as well as even volleyball teams? Who else colud use it and how much we talking about?

Again, great find, Baby Arm.

I don't know about getting state funding for something like this, I think you have to actually put in a student reforendum and put it up for vote with things concering recreational facilities on a campus, just like the Rec Center was voted on by students just a few years ago. Even if you could get state funding for something like this, there are tons of more needed buildings on the campus than an indoor practice facility, such as a new business building. North Texas faces the 2nd largest square footage deficit, in terms of buildings of public universities, in the state of Texas, meaning they are having to squeeze to many students into too few buildings
