Gauthier Wins Marilyn Smith Invitational In A Playoff

WICHITA, Kan.- Senior Randi Gauthier won the Marilyn Smith Invitational over Christine Boucher of Kansas State in a playoff at the Willowbend Country Club in Wichita, Kansas. Gauthier, who entered the day with a three-shot lead day, fired a final round eight-over par 78 while Boucher shot a three-over par 75 to force a the playoff.

Gauthier's win is the second of the season for her as she also won the Lady Eagle Invitational. As a team the Lady Eagles fired a three day score of 933 and finished in sixth place overall in a field that featured 17 teams.

Freshman Andra Lancaster had a stellar tournament firing three straight rounds under 80 including a final round of 76 to finish in 14 place overall.

North Texas returns to action for their final fall tournament of the season on October 21-22 in Port St. Lucie, FL for the Notre Dame Invitational.
