If UNT was to beat La. Tech and Tulsa, then win the Sun Belt and go to the bowl (even if they lost a Sun Belt game in the process) would you be satified with that? I think I would, especially given the youth of this team and the lack of an experienced QB. To me the La. Tech and Tulsa games are huge - for recruiting and respect.

I'd be very satisfied with an 8-3 record.

Losses to:

LSU

K-state

A sunbelt team (anyone but the MUTS please, I want the domination to continue)

Definitely agree that LaTech and Tulsa are huge, but I think I'd have to add stipulations for non-blowouts against LSU and KSU, and a truly outright conference title.

A win against a good opponent in the bowl (say, Marshall maybe) would go a long way to heal any wounds from the season though.

That said.......

With all the unknowns (DL, DBs, some OL, QB), we should probably gear up to be happy with a winning season this year. Not to mention the crappy schedule and potential nightmares brewing in the rumor mill regarding eligibility.

No Sun Belt loses. I think we"ll have a very difficult time with LSU and Kansas State. I would hope we can handle Tulas and LaTech. But NO Sun Belt loses. NT owns the 'Belt.

That's what I want NT to do.

I'll be happy when I see the following:

The Sun Belt representative handily beating the opponent in the NO Bowl . I'm sick of not being competitive in the conference's bowl game. I'd take losing the Sun Belt this year to a team that eventually beats the crap out of someone from CUSA. I'd love for us to be that team, but I can't take another beating on national tv....and neither can the conference.

Sorry...but that kind of made me laugh. OFCOURSE everyone would be happy with that!!! rolleyes.gif

I would take that in a New York second. This year is a little scary for me. People in the Belt better take their shot at us this year due to the number of new people we have to work into starting positions on both sides of the ball. We have a chance to be awfully tough in 2006 and 2007.

Honestly if we win 2 of 3 , K-state,La Tech, Tulsa I will be happy. 1 of these 3 is the likely scenerio. I hate to say it but UNT is in a huge rebuild mode. We are set at RB and WR ,LB and that is it.

I would take that in a heartbeat! If we could actually win an OOC games that would be great and 2 would be even better and I think that 2 is a reasonable expectation for this season. Along with a few OOC wins would come just a little bit more respect from everyone.
