Saw a show on Fox Sports Network about the Texas Collegiate Leaguge that just happened to be reporting from - you guessed it The ballpark on Bonnie Brae. Nice little interview with Todd VanPoppel where he mentioned that he was bummed about not getting the new stadium built for this year but said that it would be built next year(maybe he's pumping a little more of his own money into it?). He was also very complimentary about NT and mentioned that they were very supportive in this venture.

Also saw a special on this years Dave Campbells Texas football where they were mentioning the D.Campbell's "superteam" and guess who is 1st string RB? Jamario Thomas. And when they put up the list the first thing that (Rick Rhyner?) said was that he was surprized that JT was 1st string when he may not even be the starter on the NT team for this year.

That's pretty amazing when just a few years ago he did a special on NT before the bowl game making fun NT by interviewing people who had no idea we even played FB on the campus.. rolleyes.gif

Ric Renner is is an idiot. He's the reason that I don't watch Fox SportsNet's recap. I don't like his Schitck and he adds nothing to the program.

Great publicity for NT nonetheless. I'd say a lot of potential recruits saw that and are now thinking - HMM - North Texas must have some incredible running back talent..

I don't think anyone truly realizes how big an impact J-Mo will have on this program over the next several years if he stays healthy.

Part of Jamario's appeal is the fact he is a home run hitter.

How many times did I see Fox Sports play the run at Colorado where he hits the hole, changes direction, accelerates past everyone to an edge, and then leaps over a diving tackler and runs into the endzone.

He's just good TV, a fan of any team can see him do something like that and be amazed.

When is the last time we had an offensive player like that? And whenever it was, it wasnt during the media blitz days of today.

Maybe Fox TV's Rick Renner just needs to ask the Colorado U Buffalos who were the #4 ranked rushing defense before Super Jamario Thomas (only) ran for almost 260 yards against that (then) top ranked defense. rolleyes.gif

The research that is done about our recruiting, our team and one of its running backs is dismal at best. wink.gif

Guess we will just keep on placing 2'nd or 3'rd place in all these pre-season beauty polls, eh? biggrin.gif

Hope that actually happens. Their baseball stadium fundraising seems to be in the "silent phase" just like our football stadium fundraising. <_<
