SMU must be back to old ways

I was just looking at the lists for who is interested in which schools. SMU is recruiting against UT, OU, UNC, Kansas etc and looks like they're not doing badly. In fact, without naming names, they're in on a certain 6-9 five star power forward from South Oak Cliff who could come in an legitimize us on the interior.

I know one thing...if they sign some of these guys that they're in on the sales of Escalades around Highland Park will rise drastically.

Come on, Emmitt....you know better than that. Paying athletes ruined the football program at SMU and they're not about to let it ruin their basketball program, too. Jimmy Tubbs may be able to afford one of those expensive Cadillacs in a few years but no players unless/until they make the NBA.

And, that certain 6-9 player from South Oak Cliff that you won't name has repeatedly said that he is going to Baylor.

Lifer is right about this, Tubbs was a smart hire. He has recruited the DFW area for SMU and Oklahoma for many years and has excellent rapport with most of the coaches.
