Eagle 96, I see one RANKED player in the state. Went to Baylor (one of my exceptions). Where did the other 49 top 50 in Texas go?

SMUG, I seriously doubt all 9 of those teams will go to the NCAAs. I see Texas, Tech, and TCU (if they win CUSA, or at least get past Louisville) going and maybe one more, but I am not suprised if non of the others on that list go. And I doubt all 6 of the remaining teams make it to the NIT.

College Basketball in the state of Texas still has a long way to go before a lot of Texas top 50 high school recruits start thinking of staying home for college.

20% ???

Lets try this again.

10 out of the top 25 in Texas are staying in state = 40%

17(10 chose schools other than UT and Tech) out of the top 50 players in Texas have decided to stay in state.(39 have decided where they will go, 3 are playing football and 8 are undecided) 17 of 39 is 43.5 % so far.

Please tell me you didn't get your degree from NT.

I'll just make my point next year when the top 50 men AND women HS BB players are listed in the DMN. And maybe I need to compare Texas percentages with places like N. Carolina, New York, and California.

Many of you seem to think Texas is a basketball haven and basketball runs a very close second to football...and it isn't and doesn't.

Why use next years?? Why not use this years.......or one of the previous 20 years. Your numbers change with every post. Face it, what you thought to be very true turned out to be not quite what you had imagined.

I even think the point you are fighting for changes every post you make. First it was that only 1 of the top 50 TX HS seniors signed for a TX school, proving that top tier players all go elsehwhere. After numerous times posters have proven this wrong...........you changed what you are fighting for. Now it is going to be percentages of players in each state. What will it be next post?

Put yourself in the position of a parent of a state top 50 BB player. You get scholorship offers from other Texas universities (except Texas and Tech) and you get offers from Kansas, Duke, UNC, Syracuse, UConn, and Arizona (for a woman, throw in Tennessee).  Those are schools that are consistantly top 25 team, several national televised games each year, good shot at a national championship. Where do you think your son/daughter wants to go?

If you have an offer from a Duke, UNC, UConn, etc. you WILL HAVE AN OFFER FROM TECH AND TEXAS.

The smaller schools, in or out of Texas, are not going to go after you unless they are planning on cheating (more than the others do).

Your argument is worthless.
