Girls Basketball

Just so the board will have at least one post on the girls game today. They lost in overtime and were also one and out. Girls played hard but could not overcome very poor shooting. Blew 5 point overtime advantage, went into stall game and had two turnovers that turned into fast break points for Muts.

NT also rallied and had 8 cheerleaders on hand but Muts had a full squad.

Poor shooting and lazy passing did them in yesterday.

Erika Bobo has my respect. She left it all out on the court and put the team on her back in the closing minutes of regulation, but she couldn't quite get the last shot to fall.

Bobo played a heck of a game but her poor shooting was a factor in the lost. She went 7-24 but I agree without her the game would not have been close. Williams the other guard added to the problem going 0-9. I don't like the decision to play Bobo at shooting guard, I think she is a natural point. Bobo seems to be able to drive to the basket at will but doesn't have a good outside shooting game. I think one of the team's problems is that they are very weak at the point and it cost them in the overtime.

The Men's and Women's no show in the SBC tourny is very disapointing.

I am more disapointed in the Women. #2 in division of the conference and can't win one game. I was really suprised they couldn't pull down one game, given the strong(er) performance towards the end of the regular season.

Yeah, but our girls are pretty tough. Remember, we beat North Carolina last year and have only lost one major player.

That said, ya'll deserved to win the game against MT.

I thought your ladies played well.

It's pretty doscouraging that the host school can't get out of the opening round in either the men's or women's bracket. The Belt will never have the tournament at NT again. <_

Women are only losing one player, who is essentially a non-factor. They should be pretty good next year, with most players returning. I haven't really heard anything about who they have coming in next year though.

the only recruit i know ab out for the women is Ashley Vation from mansfield....

I watched her brother play back in high school and have seen her play a few times...she will be good

Slinker signed 4 players early signing all 4 ranked in TX top 35 .

Jo Hall 5-8 gd cedar park two time all region selection, average a double, double with 17.6 pts and 10.1 rebounds as Jr. ranked # 23 in TX 1st team all region, 1st team all centex, 4.3 steals average. Nt over Miami, Boston University, TX St and SFA.

Sanetra Jackson 5-8 gd. from san Antonio considered one of the best scoring gds in the region..combo gd, 3 point ability. Averaged 20.9 pts , 2nd team all state by TABC. ranked # 16 in TX by TX Hoops NT pver TX.

Tricia Lee, 5-8 gd from Fort Wayne Ind named 2nd team all region averaged 20 pts and 7 rebounds for Haltom HS as Jr. moved to Indiana..stats ? As a soph at Northrop IND, she aaverage 16.5 pts and 5 rebounds named all area and all conference ranked 17 th in TX after Jr. year prior to transfer to Indiana for her Sr. seaon.

Ashley Vation 6-0 forward from Mansfield Summitt ranked 35 in TX by TX Hoops. 1st team all district as Jr, MVP of Arlingotn Classic average 10 pts and 4.5 rebounds. Nt over SMU, SFA and TX State.
