Stupid me for NOT being able to find total details about the tournament in Denton.

Drove up this afternoon thinking that I could watch at least 3 games for $14. Not so fast hoops fan. Got to the gate, found out that the 1:30 men's game was being played on the TWU campus. Also, discovered that the women's game was being played in the pit. No problem, I will watch the women's game, go out and get dinner, come back and catch two men's games. Well not exactly. Prices are $14 a session. Silly me, I thought that it meant all of today's games. By session the Sun Belt means two games. Lady wanted to charge me $14 to watch 1 women's game (the first of the session had already been played) and $14 for the 2 evening games. I decided to buy the one ticket for tonight and went on my merry way.

Now comman sense would dictate a few things to me. First off, I would be happy that an extra behind was willing to watch the women's game. Nothing against the ladies, but we all know that those games are sparsely attended. Secondly, why would you throw a men's game into a different venue? If I were willing to watch all four games, and I was from out of town, I would have to trudge across beautiful (sarcasm) Denton to view all four games.

We all know that there are some great games on tv tonight. Additionally, the high school playoffs are being played at SMU tonight. We all know that a team from the Sun Belt isn't going to win the NCAA tournament. We also know that the Sun Belt rep probably will not even make it to the final 32! UNT and the Sun Belt should be doing whatever is possible to get people like me into the venue to watch as many games as possible. Personally I don't understand minor conferences trying to act like they are the freaking Big 10. Watching these games isn't really that important to me, and if I had to do it over I wouldn't have purchased the ticket for tonight. In hindsight I would have driven to SMU and watched two pretty good high school games.

Some of you on this board have consistently wondered why UNT doesn't draw better. This is a good example.

The info regarding how many games make up a session and where the games are played has been on meangreensports.com since 02/14. It has been on sunbeltsports.org for some time as well. The info was out there.
