Athletic Department

Guys, just wanted to say that I hope The Pit Crew will really be able to show up and support North Texas Basketball. It seems as though the athletic department is really trying some new ideas and hoping that some of these things will put us students in the position to really continue taking more and more initiative when it comes to student spirit.

I really believe that the athletic department has some good young blood working there, and is trying to let students have fun. Some of the ideas that come to mind are the expanded student section that goes right up to the edge of the visitors' bench, the new couch that they built up high in the student section with free drinks and pizza. It seems as though the athletic staff are trying to show that they were students in the past are really trying to let us have a good time and have even helped with the atmosphere and let us do a little good ol' trash talking. I think the guy who sits near the visiting team bench has come over once or twice and said that we should have fun, be creative and let them know they are playing in our place. At times when things have gotten a bit hairy, he has come by and talked to us instead of sending the police over. Even the new promotions guy has worked with us much more than I can remember at times over the previous years.

Thanks to the athletic department for giving a good effort and trying to help us poor college kids have a good time and working with us. If you agree at all, please let them know.
