After following this team through twelve games (now 8-4).......how do you think our men's team will finish up?

I'm predicting that we win the SBC tournament; but lose (in a very close game) in the 1st round of the NCAA tourney.

The games against ULL, Arkansas-LR, MTSU, and Western Kentucky will determine how this team stacks up in the conference and ultimately how they will do in the tourny. But oviously having the tourny here in Denton is a big plus. But if the team wins the conference highest they could go in the NCAA tournament would probably be a 14th seed, and that would mean facing some very stiff competion in the first round.

I was surprised by how badly MTSU beat UALR last night....85-50. Yikes.

BTW, Eagle 08.......one team that you didn't mention, that scares me.......New Orleans. They have been playing very well, of late. I think they will be our toughest competition in the West Division......moreso than ULL.

New Orleans has been playing good as of late, including only a 11 pt loss to a ranked Alabama. Bo McCalebb alone could probably beat anytime in the Belt if you allow him to.

I'd be content with a decent run in the SBC tourney. If we make the final that would show major progress for the program. IF we get that far the crowd might push them thru to the NCAA's.

It's conceivable we could get an NIT bid this season too.

UCONN (Maui...1.30p CST if you're cutting out of work this week...Colorado/Michigan State on their side of the bracket...UNC, Iowa State, Dayton, Auburn round out the field) ; ULL v. UAB ; High Point v. Old Dominion ; McNeese v. Liberty 11/26 - Memphis v. Colorado/Michigan State ; Tulane v. Wyoming (I guess?) 11/27 - Memphis game 3 ; Charlotte v. The Fighting John Buggs 11/28 - UNT v. UNI ; Utah State v. St. Bonaventure ; Wichita State v. Minnesota that Thanksgiving slate looking a lot more entertaining that the NFL

      We have an over $50M a year athletics budget. Significantly more than FAU and Charlotte who are pulling the plug on their failed year 2 coaching experiments. Are you saying we’re not capable of doing what these peers do? It’s a matter of will, not resources.

      When The Portal Opens

      I’m predicting a lot of change. JayD and Miles mentioned it on their podcast, keep a few of our returners on defense and hope the new DC brings some of his current players. Not sure what we do on offense. Need to keep C4 to try and help recruit some players from the portal. Build some OL depth.

      FAU - ended up 1-2 in their tourney...beat Oklahoma State, then fell to Drake and a two-point loss to Seton Hall in the third place game. FAU is just 4-4 on the season, but none of those games look like bad losses. they're blending in a new coach with nearly an entirely new roster...they've 8 dudes who can legit give you double-figures scoring every night, so they're still gonna be scary by the time conference play gets here. Memphis - beat a good San Francisco team and open the Maui Invitational tonight with #2 UCONN Wichita State - ran through St. Louis. Shockers seem to be back to normal Utah State - beat Iowa 77-69 to move to 6-0. it's 50/50 we play USU or get also now 6-0 St. Bonaventure at the NIT Tip-Off after our game with UNI Temple - lost a close game to Florida State, but came back to beat UMASS High Point - lost to Missouri State

      Wonder if our freshman development had anything to do with this guy going back on his commitment... eventually our refusal to play young guys will become a trend and the good ones will stop committing to this staff.
