Baseball Hall of Fame 2005

Wade Boggs and Ryne Sandberg were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame today. Bruce Sutter, Andre Dawson, and I think one other (Jim Rice ?) were listed on over 50% of the ballots, giving them a good chance for next year.

Next year's first-time eligibles will include Will Clark, Orel Hershiser, and Dwight Gooden.

Why it took one of the top 4 second basemen of all time 3 tries to get in is beyond reason, but it least it's been rectfied now.

I'm glad Ryne Sangberg made it, he used to be one of my favorite players when I was a kid.
