Thats freakin awesome. Why can't there be more professional athletes like that. After all, athletes ARE role models, whether you like it or not Mr Barkley. This guy appears to be a true, worthy role model.

I honestly think that more of that goes on than we know about.

First of all, when it does, the media knows that the bad news sells, so it doesn't make the news. Also, I think that when a sports figure (or any celebrity) does something like this, they are almost embarrassed about it and want to keep it confidential. Do we tell everyone everytime we give to a cause? If they are doing it for the right reasons, then they don't want the big presser on it, because that would make it about them. I never thought about this before Mark Cuban donated 1 million dollars to the victims of 9/11 and was very upset when the newspapers leaked it.
