DENTON (10/19/03) – The North Texas men’s basketball team will host its annual “Mid-Day Madness” at the Super Pit on Oct. 23 prior to the Mean Green’s homecoming football game against New Mexico State.

The basketball festivities will begin at 1 p.m. at the Super Pit with the introduction of the 2004-05 Mean Green and be followed by a three-point contest, dunk competition and an intersquad scrimmage.

“Our players are extremely excited about our upcoming season,” said North Texas head coach Johnny Jones. “We hope that Mean Green fans will come out prior to the football game to share with us in our ‘Mid-Day Madness’ and get a glimpse of the 2004-05 squad in our annual scrimmage to kick off the season.”

North Texas fans will get a chance to watch the fourth-year head coach and entire team as the Mean Green prepares for the upcoming 2004-05 season.

The Mean Green will host Angelo State in its season opener on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., but has two exhibition games scheduled for Nov. 6 and Nov. 12. Both exhibition games are set to tip at 7 p.m.
