I tend to want to love and support our players and their families no matter what they decide to do career wise.  It is sad but I don't think we have any choice other than to give them 100% support when they leave us behind.

It's really hard to follow Mean Green Football anymore.   I barely know (or simply don't know) who anyone is on our roster.

Basketball is the same, but at least the roster is only a fraction of the size and they play 3X the # of games, so you get to know them better.

As for the pot shots at these guys, it's embarrassing that y'all would hold these guys to "loyalty" when you know you'd have done the same things when you were their age.

If Nelson is chasing money, and can get it, then good for him.  Not his fault.
If he can't, then he learns a very tough lesson.  Sad for him, but happy schadenfreude for y'all, I guess.

So you’re of the opinion that playing college football is a career?

It is now.

Whether it actually is or not doesn't matter because the players are treating it that way with their NIL agents "NCAA Portal and NIL Experts"

Oh, we have a choice.  My choice is IDGAF about them when they leave us behind.

These guys, as it is today, are not employees.  They are student “athletes”.  If they were employees, they could be fired.  I get they are graded and can be demoted, but as I understand it, they cannot take away scholarship.

this is no relation to an employee taking another job. It is not the same.

sign them to contracts, pay them, and take away scholarships.  Contracts dictate class time, scheduling, behavior, and buyout for leaving early

Just be honest and say, I am greedy and wanted more money than UNT was able to pay me.

Can you imagine what this would all be like if they were, indeed, honest?

I'll pass.  I have a pretty good idea of their truth, and don't need that mess in my social media feeds.
