Softball at FAU

Some of the bracketology I've seen has USF and FAU getting in the NCAA tourney. If we sweep FAU and can win the series against USF, I wonder if we slide in there as a 3rd AAC in the tourney or replace USF. I hate to look ahead but this team appears to be getting hot at the right time. We've 8 of our last 10 with those losses being by 1 and 3 runs.

I know the Tarleton State loss is frustrating but it's worth mentioning they're 27-15 and on a 9 game winning streak.

As for us, just handle business one game at a time.

It was a combination of recorded organ music and regular pop/rap tunes. It did sound horrible and wasn’t helped by terrible speakers. 

By the way, we haven’t just beat FAU. We’ve walked into their house and bitch-slapped them.  This has been dominate and so good to see Skylar settle in and pitch how she is capable.

Had two on in the first but failed to score. I must say that I am not a fan of the sac bunt with one out and runners at first and second. Just feel like we are giving up an out when it isn’t needed early in the game. A base hit should score a run. 

Now we are down 2-0 in the top of the 5th and that God awful music is still being played constantly.

Miss Anneca kept us in this game for a while....but had no run support. Some great plays in the field by Kailyn and Cierra. 

Had some near misses. Maddie came close to homering. Ausha Moore send numerous long blasts....that were just foul.

Likely gonna lose today....but we showed we can play and beat these FAU gals. Go Mean Green!

Can't believe that none of their own fans (many who are senior citizens) don't complain about that racket.

I wasn't at the game so I cannot read the body language based on the very little that they showed of the UNT dugout, but it just felt like we had packed it in after yesterday's win. We got run ruled 8-0 off of a ton of errors.

Series win against first place team at their place is great. 

However, the team completely destructed in the last game, total loss of composure. 

Once again, never use Savage as a late reliever.

It all shifted after Simon got called out for leaving first base early. She made it to 3rd on an error at second base. We went from 1 out with a runner at 3rd to 2 out with nobody on base. Down 2-0 at the time so it was a huge call.

We did our share. Sucks Tulsa couldn't pull off one victory for us. So we will retreat to Denton in third place.

Three manageable series left - vs. UAB, vs. USF, at ECU. Hopefully weather can hold off for once.

Don't look now but Charlotte is only a game behind us in fourth after sweeping Memphis and they have a favorable last three conference series: vs. UTSA, at Wichita, vs. UAB. They are going to be annoying again - plus they hold the tiebreaker between us.

Need to sweep UAB this week!

Savage didn't throw poorly.  Her defense let her down.  The bad hop/error on Simon snowballed.

Big picture, we went into Boca and took it to them in games one and two.  If you had told me that we would go into their house and take two of three, then I would have been happy.  We could have swept them, but give them credit too.  They have a good ball club.  If we take care of our business through the end of the schedule we will be just fine.  One thing this team needs to develop is an "F you, killer instinct".  They are getting there.
