Found this on a NIL/Portal site for college basketball. This is what the Major Conferences are supposedly playing for players right now.

PROJECTED ELITE GUYS (Top 10-15): $2.5 to 4 million PROJECTED ALL-LEAGUE PLAYER: $1.5 to 2.5 million PROJECTED STARTERS: $500K to 1.5 million PROJECTED BENCH PLAYER: $200K to 700K

This may be why we can't keep our best players. I doubt that we are even close to paying out more than 50-100k for a starter.

We can always find players than want to play.  Regardless of salary...it's still just 5 guys playing against another 5 guys.... or 11 on 11 depending on sport.   It just takes effort,

As a program, North Texas has always faced other programs with more of everything.  It didn't stop us from beating Florida, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Baylor, Arkansas, Minnesota, Oregon St, Wisconsin, Purdue, etc.

Players, coaches, and administrators will come and go....

Fans and Alums are here for life....

Singing glory to the green, singing glory to the white,

For we know our university is striving for the right;

Down the corridor of years, we'll forget the joys and tears,

But North Texas, North Texas, we love!

It is great to win individual games as David, but post season respect and attention would be nice.  Post season wins even better!

It is one thing to have less money than SMU and beat them, but it apparently takes good money to get an at large in basketball.

We beat Purdue in the NCAA first round.  We beat Wisconsin and Okla St. (twice) in the NIT.

That is harder to earn.   It takes more National media reps... plus winning.

We had a lot of National media this past season in basketball on the mainline ESPNs, plus the Bowl drew a nice TV audience.

That was nice, wasn't it?  I didn't have to tell friends and family to look for the game, they let me know they saw us playing.

I feel like NIL money is comparable to Bail…. They aren’t paying the million dollars in bail money… no way guys are getting a million to play in college. Still even if they aren’t I hate the NIL as it’s currently set up either way.

You're very naive, buddy. They are making much more than a million.

One of the first big deals....was when Nigel Pack got $400,000 to go from Kansas State to Miami, Fla. He was on that good "U" team....that made it to the Elite Eight (or Final Four)....

The money since then......has skyrocketed. Tennessee can't keep their QB happy....and he's making low millions.

I wonder what sort of cut the agents are getting these days.

30-40 percent.  It’s sad.

Where do agents fit in on the sleezeball scale?  They’ve got to be near the top, right?

(Apologies to any of you who might be a sports agent😬)
