HS COMMIT '25: Curtis Stinson Jr - PG

6'4" 180lb PG from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH (between Cleveland and Akron). from what I can find online, it looks like he averaged 19.5ppg, 7rpg, 3.5apg for his senior season. his father, Curtis Stinson, was a big-time scoring guard at Iowa State...averaged 19.5ppg his last season with the Cyclones...and then bounced around the G-League and Europe for a decade of pro ball. 

this looks like a legit big get for us...and imma say speaks a bit to my point earlier about these level of players starting to become more and more available to top mid-major programs. I bet 5 years ago he goes to ISU to sit for a year or two

Between having Stevenson win the Horizon Freshman of the Year & getting Stinson here, I don't think he subscribes to the same thought process of having Freshmen sit like McCasland & Hodge.

Any idea why his recruiting kinda dried up after 2023?  I personally love this pickup and with him being the son of a former ball player I think that this is an added bonus.

positive spin...he had made three visits to his dad's old school so everyone just kinda thought his recruiting was wrapped up?

Just looks too slow and non-athletic for my point guard at this level. Love his size though. With such a nice resume, where's the current interest/offers? Think the Horton kid has the better chance to thrive.

Yeah that's what I was thinking is that he seemed like a shoe-in for Iowa State
