1I understood your point, that's why I noted that you were making a valid argument in regards to having players ready to play

2.  Definitely cherry picking.  Let's go to Google so everyone is working off of the same definition:  A basketball team's "rotation" is the group of players who are most likely to be on the court during a game, as opposed to those who are primarily bench players

3.  I feel like that is rarely, if ever, seen in college.

4.  When you win your NCAA tournament games by an average of over 23 points per game, you probably had a lot of games that bench players got extended minutes.

Received. I respect these perspectives.

WVU clearly hired the wrong guy from UNT😁

I don't pretend Ross was some genius coach.   He was stubborn, sometimes to a fault.

He didn't really appreciate UNT fans either like he will when WVU loses some games.  It's a tougher crowd when they expect more for their million$.

This is what drove me crazy during the year.  Why, when up big, did we not run Mason, Cotton or Brock?  Makes no sense, and now they are gone.

Two Words:  SCORING DROUGHTS!  No lead was safe this year!

Back to the topic...Vice was a low energy guy that didn't work hard.  Not speculation...fact.  He didn't play for Ross because he didn't work for Ross.

I've read this numerous times and never realized this. I thought from his reaction to being hired, that he was excited to be here and would stay and build something.

I would say this job will require a unique personality.  Bill Blakeley was successful, not only in winning games but in drawing a crowd, because of his personality.  He was a show all alone on the sidelines and with the signs he hung from his chair.  He also ran a fun brand of basketball and engaged the fans and the community.  That is what is needed and not a coach that is biding his time looking for the next big thing.

I don't think I ever recall reading or hearing Ross engage the fans outside of one or two social media posts.  He had, and supposedly earned, a media bonus with his contract which shocked me because I rarely heard a word from him outside of being interviewed during or after a game for a few seconds plus the typical post game press conference for Vito and a Daily writer.

Yes I agree with you there is a difference between main rotation and guys getting minutes in games with big leads. My point is get guys regular minutes early on in the season and they could develop into rotation guys later on. I also think we're cherry picking here on what being part of the rotation here. You watch some NBA games and you'll see guys get 0 minutes one game and 20 the next based on the match-up. That doesn't mean they're not part of the rotation. Just means the coach may feature different guys for tactical reasons.

By the way, here's UCONN's 23-24 player stats. Look at how many guys played in 30+ games.

Nine or one more than our eight player rotation.

I'm sure the media bonus was for the weekly coaches shows and for pre and post-game radio stuff. He was always very engaging when I saw him at events.

Murray State's new HC was the assistant at Creighton from 21-25. They have Vice, Layne Taylor, a couple other Creighton transfers, a UCSB transfer who originally was at Creighton, a DePaul transfer, and some others coming in. Who knows how it works out but I'm sure the fan base is excited. Lots of size and High-major recruits coming in for them.
