The ladies go down 4-0 in Game 2 but score 12 unanswered in innings 4-6 for another run rule victory.

Game 3 will start around 2:55.

UNT is 9-5 in conference, USF lost two of three in Boca so they are 9-5-1. A win later this afternoon puts us in second place.

Boomsticks back out in the nightcap....Mean Green win 12-3 in five innings (run ruled).

Kayleigh Smith started....went 3 2/3....relieved by Shelby Buffington who went 1 1/3. Smith left with the lead...but meangreenstats says the winner was Buffington. Not sure.....in softball do you have to go x number of innings as the starter, to get the win???? Anyway....happy for true freshman Buffington......that was her most successful outing.

Big bats......Kailyn Bearpaw (4 rbis)....Maddie Conley (3 rbis).

Our gals are now 10-5 in league play. We play at Tarleton on Tuesday....before going to FAU (best team in the league by far) for three games next weekend. Not expecting miracles down there, but if our kids win at least one game....it would show them they can beat FAU (could come in handy at tourney time). GMG

UTSA softball is what it is but NT outscores UTSA 33-8 over less than 16 innings played in the three game series.

Does anyone know if a bunt is easier to execute on a wet (sticky?) field? We had at least three excellent bunts in game one today.

Had a mutual friend ask if that's the first time in school history, that we've "run ruled" ....three games in a row.

I'd guess it is.

It is good to dominate the teams we should blow out.

The bad news is that in our remaining four conference series, we play the other three teams in the Top 4 of the standings. The only outlier is 8th place UAB, who is still a respectable 6-9, AND swept us in Birmingham last year.
