I have been checked out on football since November more or less and was looking up our 2025 class out of boredom only to find we signed a nationally top 40 ranked running back? Caleb Hawkins received a 89 ranking from 247, making him our second or third highest ranked commit ever I’m surprised there’s not been discussion on him. He was given a rating on January 27th, kudos to 247 for sticking to their guns and giving the rating they saw fit, not considering his offer list in which we were the only FBS school to offer. Competition be damned he is gliding around players on his tape, pretty excited about him.

He was the best athlete on the field. However, this was class 3A ball in Oklahoma. A lot of small slow unathletic guys he was running against. I'm not saying he's bad, just temper the expectations. For comparison, On 3 had him as the 29th best recruit in Oklahoma.

Didn't NT have a little luck with another small town Oklahoma football player?

Yes, we did. Also, have had our fair share of busts from Oklahoma.

Tecumseh, OK and Elkhart, TX produced some pretty good ball players at the RB position for us.  Locust Grove, OK for a QB, Llano, TX for a LB, New Boston, TX for a CB, etc.  sometimes they are worth a  shot

Here is a rundown of players from 24/7 since 2016. Of the 13 players listed, only 5 were decent players. The rest were busts. I know we had a few great guys from there. I do hope that Caleb is another successful player from Oklahoma. There is talent in that state. Patrick Cobbs, Mason Fine, Rico Bussey, and Jake Roberts were certainly great in their time here.

Mason Fine- NT Legend/ Future HOFer

Rico Bussey- Top Tier WR (even though he left us for Hawaii)

Chandler Anthony- Bust (Played in 14 games mostly on special teams over 3 seasons)

Jason Pirtle- Solid TE over 4 seasons here

Derrick Shaw- Bust

Caleb Colvin- Solid DL

Daxton Byers- Bust

Will Kuehne- Bust

Jacobi Johnson- Bust

Jake Roberts- Great TE, but was transferring to Baylor (231 yards and a TD) and OU (112 yards and 2 TD) worth it?

Bryce Drummond- Bust (But he will be rich one day so who cares)

Kelvin Greene- Bust (Not sure if he even made it on campus)

Dietrich Moore- Bust
