They could if everything alligns, but they also could go 2-10 if it does not.  If the defense can play at a high level, and not give up big plays it a good possibility.

The thing that makes this season hard to predict for me, besides having a new defensive staff, is our home schedule. There are only two "should-be" wins to me with Lamar and Temple. But then you have Wazzou, South Alabama, South Florida, UTSA, and Navy. Five question marks right now.

There’s only one major high profile program left to make a national mark and I think we will have a special season. Undefeated, a possibility, probability low. Big win season, fun and championship promise deep into the season I could see happening.

Potential goals:

Playoffs.

AAC Championship.

Strong Bowl marquee matchup.

New Mexico Bowl or similar.

I’m going with AAC Championship goal with a good season being a marquee bowl matchup. We must progress, so minimum is a lower profile bowl win.

They don’t have a luncheon planned at DATCU, do they ?

You know, I'm not really worried about the DATCU being booked after our season is over in November.

That's maybe the weakest schedule we've had in a long time.  Could be an "opportunity" year, but I tend to think our new QBs are not going to be as good as the last guy we had.  Until the freshman gets his shot...then all bets are off.  That kid looks like a firework waiting to go off on tape.  I could be wildly off about the Albany/Miami transfer, though.  I can't even tell you any of these guy's names off the top of my head without having to look it up...which goes to show, how the heck do you have any semblance of what to expect nowadays with all the roster turnover?!

Did you see Mestemaker in the bowl game?  That kid, if he plays to that level, is good enough to win a lot of games.  I am also looking forward to Jimmerson, but our QB's will be fine.

The ceiling is 9 wins and the floor is probably 2 wins, just depending on injuries or other issues.

Id probably expect 6-6. The defense has to be a lot better than we’ve seen here since the DMac days. With these Leach Disciples, that’s rarely the case.
