pretty normal for a bunch of players to hop in the portal once a coach leaves...CSU has had 4 or 5 dudes jump in, in addition to the 3 we've landed...doesn't mean they're coming here. 

my hope is that Robinson is focusing recruiting efforts right now on B-Lo, Floyd, Newell, Vice and Mason, while scouring the portal for a legit lead guard(s) for next season

No to Newell, sorry.  Yes to the others.

Not taking any NIL into consideration…you can do a whole lot worse. I get he’s frustrating, but he was the 7th best player in an 8 man rotation on a 27 win team. He’s worth a scholarship if he wants to stay. 
 

Keep in mind, I’m not sure Sissoko ever dunked a basketball until around December this season. Newell’s biggest knock is a lack of toughness at the rim…he can improve.

I think Newell improved greatly on the defensive side and toughness at the rim side, from where he started the season.

His downfall is being out of control with the ball, lack of scoring down low and missed free throws.  But 6-9 gets a scholarship most places, including UNT.  I'm fine with him back on the roster, but would like to compare 6-9 options for being a starter.
