Yeah that was weird. Don’t miss Wren and wish Ross the best.

Looking forward. So glad I get to live the patch for life.

Good for him.  It’s hard to turn down $3million dollars I don’t care who you are.  This is reality now at schools like North Texas.  Good fans or not, money talks and it speaks loudly.  Hopefully we support the new guy better than we supported the last 2 guys.

So is the program actually better off today, after Hodge, than what McCasland left 3 years ago? i.e., championships, growth in attendance, roster, marketability (team profile)?

With McCasland NT won the:

2018 CBI Championship

2020 CUSA regular season title

2021 CUSA tourney title

2022 CUSA regular season title

2023 NIT Championship

With Hodge....none.

Attendance was down this season over last.

Marketability?.....the AD does not know the meaning of the word.

Coach vs coach, you are correct. Fans are lumping together the successes and calling it an end to the era. Both points are valid.

I think Hodge did a respectable job keeping the momentum going.

With Memphis in play, he had a slightly bigger animal to conquer to get conference 'ships and an NCAA bid.  But he did nearly get us an NIT 'ship in Y2.

Is it possible to demand high expectations from our AD, but simultaneously have some wisdom to admit that maybe - just maybe -  Grant is a special coach and any D1 program in the country would be hard pressed to match or exceed him?

He never felt heat over a loss from NT fans.   He will at WVU.

Well, he’s getting paid $3 million dollars a year…and he’s gonna play conference games in a sold out coliseum. Unlike ours that will cause people to feel euphoric when we get crowds over 4000.
