Just curious . . . what argument still remains that college sports is in any way preferable to professional sports?

Professional sports are and have been superior in that they know the value of competition.   Hence, the pros have salary caps, drafts and uniform scheduling.

College athletics is completely ruined as NIL has made it basically who can raise the most money to buy players.

That's a decent argument for cheering for and supporting UNT athletics, but I don't see that as an argument for college sports in general.  Especially when you ask, "What commitment do these players actually have toward representing my school?"  See the O.P. for the answer.

I just take it season by season.  They come here, probably only a year, but wear the jersey of my school.  Try to beat the jersey from the school that's not mine.

Keeping it simple.

What makes you say that?  Maybe he realized he doesn’t have a career past college and is cashing in as best possible. I don’t like it but I can see many kids doing this.

The same thing that compelled him to shit on every other player that left the program.

Jones and Scott never really bothered. The rest yes. They show true character in their chase for money over loyalty. Just like all of these coaches as well. The fact that’s seen as a positive only shows how sad society has become.
